Belize PM to meet Oct 3 with prayed-up Church

Belize PM

Leaders in the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches have met often to prepare for the meeting with Belize PM Barrow

BELIZE JOURNAL Pt 1. Tonight is the first of three nights of nationwide corporate prayer for God’s will in decisions on the LGBT agenda in Belize. On Tues. Sept. 30 we will pray for Belize PM Dean Barrow’s Oct. 3rd meeting with church leaders on the gender policy. This is a long-anticipated meeting. We have waited since Nov. 2013 for the PM’s response to the Church’s comprehensive report on the gender policy. Now is the time to pray for a conclusive decision in favor of God’s good male-female gender policy in Gen. 1-2. Agree with us on the following prayer points for the Belize PM!

Daniel’s Prayer of Repentance
(Daniel 9:5, 16,17)

Oh Lord we have sinned and have committed iniquity against You. We have done wickedly and have rebelled even by departing from Your precepts and from Your judgments. O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, we beseech You, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from our nation Belize, your Holy place. Because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, this city and your people a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayers of Your servants, and our supplications. Cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake. Answer us now as we pray for our Prime Minister, Our Chief Justice and our Nation.

PRAYING FOR THE PRIME MINISTER

  1. Reverential fear of the Lord (2 Chron. 7:17-19)

Father, we look to You as the King of kings.

Our lives depend on Your sovereignty.

Our constitution is based on Your supremacy.

Our Prime Minister was established by Your authority.

You told us to pray for him, and for all those in authority, “that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” (1 Tim. 2:2)

The Church Report on the Gender Policy was submitted to the Government for further review.

It is a policy that would make godliness and holiness increasingly difficult.

The fear of the Lord is to hate all evil.

We declare that, according to Your word, sodomy and all LGBT variations on sex, marriage and family as evils that are abominable to You. Your Word says it is confusion!

Shed Your light on the Prime Minister, touch his eyes, touch his heart, that he may see how destructive this policy will be to men, women, children, families and the future of this nation.

Lord, we ask You for dreams & visions for the Prime Minister! Let him know he’s going up against the Living God!

Teach his heart to fear You, the Living & Eternal God, and not the global gay agenda.

The love of money is the root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10). Help him to love the truth, to love what’s right for our nation, and not to bow to the influence of  international pressures and money.

Let the fear of You be the beginning of wisdom.

  1. Wisdom & knowledge for ruling the nation as King Solomon had (1 Kings 3:9; 4:29)

Father, we look to You as the source of all wisdom and understanding.

Show the Prime Minister how wise Your plan is for marriage, sex and family.

Show him the wisdom of Your gender policy. That God created them MALE and FEMALE, in His image.

Show him how You created man & woman, to be one flesh, to be fruitful and multiply children in families.

Show him how You made children to need a father and mother to guide them and care and provide for them,  till they marry and become fathers and mothers.

Show him how the government can encourage and protect marriage and family instead of degrading and redefining them.

Show him that the wisdom of the world on this issue is foolishness in Your eyes.

Show Him that Belize can be far more blessed for following Your ways than the ways of the world.
Open His eyes Lord! Let Him know You and Your ways!

  1. Speedy conclusion and acceptance of all the Church Comprehensive Report recommendations

Father, Your word says that “now, through the church, [Your] manifold wisdom should be made known to the rulers and authorities” (Eph. 3:10).

Show the Prime Minister the wisdom You have given Your Church in our Report on the gender policy.

In agreement with the Church’s Report, we stand for basic things that the gender policy either does not include or needs more attention to:

1 Defining gender as male and female only, and marriage as between one man and one woman only.

2 Enforcing child and spousal support and maintenance.

3 Enforcing laws and increasing penalties against child molestation.

4 Zero tolerance for gender-based violence, and more training to stop it.

5 Better measures to combat human trafficking.

6 Focusing on abstinence before marriage & faithfulness after marriage, for the sake of stable families. All curriculum should be teaching children & youth of the dangers of becoming sexually active in their early years.

7 Promoting the above values in media and education, and eliminating degrading portrayals of women.

In agreement with the Church’s Report, we also stand:

1 Against special rights & services for LGBTs, men having sex w/ men, & prostitutes that the rest of us don’t have.

2 Against the inclusion of “sexual orientation” and “behavioral lifestyles” as part  of the description of Belize’s “diversity”. We stand upon the Constitutional description of diversity, “regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, sex, religious affiliation, etc.

3 Against using education as a “primary vehicle for transforming gender relations across the life cycle”.

4 Against any government policy which allows for the promotion of LGBT behavior.

Father, we ask You to show our Belize PM that the common sense of these points cannot be denied.

We pray for Your light as he considers them, and Your hand to guide him as he decides.
