PRAY WITH US about the Guatemala border crisis. Father God, You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You made the world and everything in it. You determined the times set for men and the exact places where they should live. You forbid moving the ancient boundary stones. Affirm the boundaries of Belize and Guatemala. We thank You that in late 2014 those boundaries were affirmed once again. That Guatemala border crisis ended in a 16 point plan for cooperation between Belizean and Guatemalan forces to enforce the border. To educate people about it. To steer trespassers to resources in their own country. We grieve that recent trespassing has resulted in injuries and one death. In this new Guatemala border crisis, we ask that You halt the rush to judgment before there is a full and fair investigation. We ask that You halt the rush to offensive movements before more blood is shed.
The devil wants to steal, kill and destroy. We ask that You turn up Your spotlight on those who are crossing the border to steal. On those who are destroying lands. On those who killed Danny Conorquie as well as ten Guatemalans in the past seventeen years. We ask that the truth come out about why two boys were brought across the border into a place of danger. Why shots were fired at Belizean forces. Why one of the boys was killed. We ask that this Guatemala border crisis end with protocols of border behavior that both sides can agree on. We ask for the truth to come out about why the recent 16 points of agreement were jettisoned last year when no one opposed them.
We ask for You to put down warmongers and raise up peacemakers. We thank You that You have already answered prayers to defuse the Guatemala border crisis. We ask for a just, wise and compassionate conclusion. We ask for right relations of mutual respect to be established with Guatemala. We ask for grace to work together against the giants facing both of our countries: drug lords, witchcraft, the spirit of murder, and sexual immorality. We thank You for the beginning of that good work in our new relationship with the evangelical association in Peten. We declare that Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy. We thank You that He will finish every good work that He began. In Jesus’ name, amen.
