PRAYER ALERT on biblical worldview. From IPMI Monthly Global Prayer Teleconference: Only 10 percent of Americans hold a distinctly biblical worldview. In surveys published by the American Culture and Faith Institute, seven out of 10 Americans called themselves Christians. But relatively few were able to answer questions about the Bible and Christian beliefs.

“Our research collected information about attitudes and behaviors related to practical matters. They included lying, cheating, stealing, pornography, the nature of God, and the consequences of unresolved sin,” said researcher George Barna, who directed the studies.

The discrepancy is alarming. More than seven out of every 10 consider themselves to be Christian. But only one out of 10 hold a biblical worldview.”

However, Barna noted that every person does have a worldview.

“The critical question is which one people have embraced,” he said. “Therefore if we want to transform our culture then we will need to change the choices people make that produce that culture. And in order to change those choices we must identify the beliefs that led to those choices.”

PRAY WITH US:

1.      That the Lord would continue to raise up intercessors across America with a true vision of intercession and call to stand in the gap for spiritual revival in the church to impact America.

  1. For God’s people across the nation to experience a deep spiritual hunger and thirsting after God. For His Word to lay the foundation for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon His people across the nation. That the church grow and the lost hear the good news, including those that view themselves as non-religious or atheists
  2. For revival among the mainline Protestant denominations that are either stagnant or in a state of decline. For God to rekindle love for Christ and the Word of God. Decline in attendance shows lack of love for His Church. Too many who attend lack joy and vibrancy in worship services. Moreover, too many churches lack evangelistic fruits and community impact. We need more of God in Christians before we can expect more of God in the world!
