PRAY WITH US about Nicaraguan Bishop Stays Imprisoned, that God will
- Fill those conscientious government opponents still in prison with Your Holy Spirit. Fill those whom President Ortega expelled too. And help them all endure and overcome the limits placed on them for now.
- Move on Ortega with great conviction and fear of You, as you moved on the kings of Daniel’s time. Help him hear and take godly advice. And if it takes miracles on their behalf, do miracles for the world to see. And for other tyrants to take notice and fear you too.
- Restore an atmosphere that allows leaders to speak out for You and for those who are suffering with power and grace. And let Your Word and will prevail over Nicaragua like never before.
- For Haiti, help in the rebuilding of the Hospital Albert Schweitzer which suffered attack, killing seven policemen. Restore a supernatural peace and security there so it may reopen. And show Yourself as the Great Physician for Haiti’s deep wounds both physical and spiritual.
PRAYER ALERT: Nicaraguan Bishop Stays Imprisoned, 222 Inmates Expelled
Most of the 94 political opponents who have lost their status as citizens have already fled the country. They are joined in exile by 222 former prisoners whom dictator Daniel Ortega deported last week.
For now, one Catholic bishop, Rolando Alvarez is staying in prison on a 26-year sentence for “treason.” Because he refused to board the flight that took the other 222 away. Instead, he is staying in solidarity with other Catholics facing state persecution.
On TV Ortega called the released prisoners “criminal mercenaries” working for foreign powers. The Sandinista-dominated Congress has ordered over 1,000 NGOs to close. Including Mother Teresa’s charity. And since 2018, more than 190 attacks have been perpetrated against the Catholic Church…
