How the Millennium Begins—and Ends

PRAY WITH US for millennium the last day: Father God, You are Lord of heaven and earth. Thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your Son to save us in His first coming. Thank You for the blessed hope of Him coming to rule the earth at His second coming. And thank you for the awesome privilege of ruling with Him on earth for 1000 years.

Therefore show us how to become good and faithful servants now, so You may entrust us with more when He comes. Help us understand Your kingdom better, so we may bring more of it to earth now. Also, help us to bring more people into Your kingdom, so Your house may be full. And show us how to magnify Your kingdom now above the kingdoms of the world. For to You be kingdom and the glory and the power forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When the Millennium begins, we will rejoice that Satan is bound in the abyss, so he cannot deceive the nations any longer. But we will have to face the destruction that he—and the plagues that destroyed his kingdom—have left behind;

Plagues have burned up one third of the whole earth. That includes all the green grass and one-third of the trees. The oceans have turned to blood. And all springs and rivers flow with blood (Rev. 8:7; 16:2-4). Only Christ can restore such an earth.

Acts 3:20-21 says that at the Second Coming, the Father will “send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the periods of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient times.”

During the 1000 years of these “periods of restoration”, we will restore the earth with Christ. How? We believers will have glorified heavenly bodies with greatly increased powers (see Matt. 22:30).

Then “creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption, into the freedom of the glory of the children of God” (Rom. 8:21).

When the Millennium begins, Jesus will give us different assignments to fill the earth with His glory…
