PRAY WITH US about Trump’s Israel visit: Father God, we exalt You as Wonderful Counselor. Because You counsel us to do things we wonder at. And we are wondering how You can solve the thorny issues in Israel and the Middle East. Trump is visiting there, but we want You to visit too. For we all need Your answers. Only You know how to stop the bombs and missiles raining down on Israel. Or how to feed and house people displaced by war. Or how to give Gaza the government that it really needs. Solutions have been sorely missing.
So we call on You to do wonders where the world has largely lost hope. Provide the Gazans with the food, housing and directions they need to survive. Turn them from the wicked ways in which Hamas terrorists have indoctrinated them. Let them sense Your presence and come to the realization that Jesus is Lord like He says. And that nothing remains impossible with Him. Also, move on Trump, Netanyahu and other leaders to agree with Your ways to resolve each of these crises. To You be all the glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
PRAYER ALERT: Trump’s Israel Visit—Confronting Thorny Issues
It takes a lot of courage to visit Israel at this inopportune time. Usually, world leaders come to agreements ahead of time, and then make visits to announce good news. But this time Israel has declared it will launch a large Gaza offensive as soon as Trump leaves. A Houti bomb came close to hitting the airport where Trump will probably arrive and depart. Although Trump worked out a cease-fire with the Houtis, it doesn’t apply to Israel. And within Gaza, Israel has blocked food aid in part because Hamas has been stealing it.
Recently, a poll found 49% of Gazans saying they would apply to Israel to help them relocate abroad. And 48% supported the recent street protests against Hamas. Clearly, we are seeing significant support for a change of location so there can be a change of regime.
Enter Trump, saying he’ll help Gazans get food that Hamas can’t steal from them…
