Sheep & Goats Judgment—on Nations or Individuals? -

PRAY WITH US about sheep & goats judgment: Father God, thank You for loving us so much that You gave us Your only Son Jesus. You have made Him the way, the truth and the life. Help us understand His narrow way to life. Because men promote many ways to salvation that actually lead to destruction. And many follow those ways, only to end in eternal punishment.

Thank You for the grace to simply receive salvation by faith in Christ. Faith in Him brings more grace to live a new life, with a new heart, a new mind, and new works. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which You prepared beforehand. But let us not put our faith in works, but in You, for all You have prepared for us. For from You and to You and through You are all good things, forevermore. In Jesus name, amen.

PRAYER ALERT: Sheep & Goats Judgment—on Nations or Individuals?

Many Christian leaders say their nation needs lasting revival so it will end up as a sheep nation. They go on to say that every nation will face its final verdict at the sheep & goats judgment (Mt. 25:31-46). But that would mean that some entire nations “will go away into eternal punishment”. And other entire nations will go “into eternal life” (v.46).

Of course, that completely contradicts salvation by faith for each individual believer, no matter their nation. For “whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (Jn. 3:16). All Belizeans will not go to hell, and all Belizeans will not go to heaven.

What then does the sheep & goats judgment mean? Does it mean salvation by works of feeding the hungry, sheltering strangers, and visiting prisoners? And who does it concern? All people of all nations in all history? A close reading of Matthew 25 in its context will show all of the above interpretations as untrue.
