Restoring Leaders: Getting Clear of Sin Through the Cross

Restoring Leaders

PRAY WITH US about restoring leaders: Father God, we thank You so much that You so loved us. Because You sent Your only Son to take the punishment for our sins. You forgive so much that You forget. So show us how to face sin, and speak the truth about sin with the same love that can forgive. Lead us to confront the one who sinned, one-on-one. And if need be, to find witnesses and bring the matter before the church. To treat the unrepentant sinner as an unbeliever until he does truly repent.

But then to work with Your Holy Spirit to bring him to a state of eagerness to clear himself. And of indignation, alarm and readiness to see justice done—even if he has to agree to punishment. For if we follow this way, You will make all these things work to the good for those who love You. So we trust You to do this for the good of Your body and for a witness to the world. That yes, with You we can overcome sin and anything in the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
