PRAY WITH US about wonders, worship, word. Father God, all good things come from You and through You and to You. You oversee all times and all seasons. So help us overcome this season of distress, and prepare us for a grace period of great harvests. Many who continue in distress during this time of shaking need to find your unshakeable kingdom. Therefore send us where the harvest is ripe, to make disciples of those now who are now in distress.

Release power to make us Your witnesses to the ends of the earth. Let Your signs and wonders accompany us, that they may know You as the only true God. Also, separate the true Christians from the false, so that you church may grow in unity and maturity. And show us how to live and work together so that we may attain to the fullness of Christ, just as You promised. In Jesus’ name, amen.

VIDEO ONE: Wonders, Worship, Word—Revivals Past to Present

Jesus said the end will not come until the gospel is preached “as a testimony to all nations” (Mt. 24:14). So we can expect at least one more grace period for the church to reap a final harvest from coming revivals.

The three main features of any great revival are wonders, worship and word. For instance, at Pentecost people witnessed the wonder of the disciples speaking in the many different tongues. They heard the disciples worshiping as they declared “the mighty works of God” (Acts 2:5-12). And 3000 responded when Peter preached this word: “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (verse 38).

The Holy Spirit gives different spiritual gifts to different members of the body of Christ. During past revivals, less mature people have often become divided over these gifts. As a result, many revivals have ended prematurely. But the end-time revivals will end in with the church in unity and maturity. Because God will use the 5-fold ministry bring us “to the unity of the faith…to a mature man” (Eph. 4:13).

In the 1950s to 1980s, the evangelistic, pastoral and teaching ministries developed rapidly. But since the 1980s, the prophetic and apostolic ministries have struggled to grow and work alongside of those other three ministries.

In the next two videos, we will go into more detail about how the dynamics of these five ministries—and recent revivals—have affected the whole church. And about what must happen to bring them into unity, so that all of us can make the most of the great harvests to come.
