Prophetic & Apostolic Connections Take Shape

PRAY WITH US for prophetic & apostolic connections: Father God, You are the Beginning and the End. You began by saying what You created was very good. And You will end this age by finishing the good work You began in us. So bring Your 5-fold ministry into unity and maturity. Raise up more evangelists to plant and reap the final harvests. Train more pastors and teachers to help them grow in Your ways. Call forth prophets to make clear trumpet calls to the whole body. And establish apostles to oversee, mobilize and lead the saints in Your triumph.

At this time we remain far from the church You seek for Your return. So show each of us, step by step, how to fill the gaps. Direct each of usto the part of Your body where we fit. Help us work in love and harmony with the rest of Your body. And most of all, lead us to grow up in all all aspects into Him who is the Head of all creation and redemption. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Before Christ returns, Ephesians 4:13 says the 5-fold ministry will finish the work of the church. It will equip the saints “until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and …to a mature man…to the fullness of Christ.”

But at this time, the church worldwide remains far from unity or maturity. The ministries of apostles and prophets are still going through growing pains. Prophets today are releasing conflicting prophecies with few clear trumpet calls to the body of Christ. For instance, they disagreed in 2000 over the Y2K prophesies of worldwide chaos. And in 2020-21 over the Trump prophesies.

Recently, 332 ministries signed a “Prophetic Standards Statement.” It calls on prophets to engage with other 5-fold ministry leaders to interpret and apply prophecies.

Yet one piece is still missing: an apostolic ministry which is widely recognized in the body of Christ. We need such leadership to make the most of the coming harvests. Until that happens, let’s honor our current leadership and believe that God will cause our end-times leadership to emerge.

And let’s unite in the face of an increasingly anti-Christian culture, to show that Christ is the only answer. Then the world will watch as He finishes the good work He began in us.
