New Religious Affairs Minister Hears out the Churches -

PRAY WITH US about new religious affairs minister. Father God, we exalt You as Creator. Thank You for the way You created us to be fruitful and multiply. For any other kind of sex becomes unfruitful and divides. It divides into multiple sexes and leads deeper and deeper into depravity. But You gave Your word to save, correct, rebuke and train in righteousness. So help us to speak Your word boldly to governments.

Help our new Religious Affairs Minister to not just hear us, but to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Then guide him to speak what the Spirit is saying to the governments. And guide the whole Cabinet to test and approve Your good will for Belize. For they realize that they don’t have the answers that we really need. But You do. And You have established them as our authorities. So let them understand that You—not the LGBTs or the globalists—have the final say. And help them find the narrow way that will lead them and the nation to recovery and abundant life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAYER ALERT: New Religious Affairs Minister Hears out the Churches

The new Minister of Religious Affairs, Henry Charles Usher, began his term taking a strong stand. Explicitly, he affirmed “the Christian fundamental principles upon which our country is based. The Constitution of Belize is very clear. It advocates the supremacy of God…”

Immediately he got blowback for those remarks from the increasingly anti-Christian media. And especially from the few small but vocal LGBT groups. Since then, he made efforts to hear them out too.

On Feb. 2, Minister Usher held his first meeting this year with church group leaders. We discussed Pope Francis’ recent statement that homosexuality is a sin, not a crime. It used to be a crime in the Constitution of Belize until 2016.

Now LGBTs want to make any Christian or moral objection to homosexuality a crime. So I shared from Romans 1 a passage that many LGBTs want to ban from public discourse. For that very reason we should pay all the more attention to it…
