PRAY WITH US about pope contradicts doctrine: Father God, You are Creator of all. You say that every family in heaven and on earth takes its name from You. But Your enemies want to redefine family. They want to redefine male and female and sex. Yet You created them for good. They want to recreate them in their image for evil. Moreover, they want to call Your good evil, and their evil good. Now even the pope is beginnning to agree with them.
Do not let Your enemies deceive him. Do not let them deceive the billion-plus who follow him. Show Yourself as our true Father. Show parents with their natural children as true families. Where such families have failed, restore hearts of parents to children and children to parents. But do not let their failures justify any perversion of marriage or sex. Instead, restore LGBTs to their true God-given identities. Convict them of sin, and bring them into Your grace and truth through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.
PRAYER ALERT: Pope Contradicts Doctrine on Same-Sex Unions
More than one billion Catholics worldwide must be wondering what to make of Pope Francis’ recently published comments endorsing same-sex civil unions. Bible-believing Christians consider only Scripture as infallible. Catholic doctrine considers pope’s words as infallible, but only when he formally defines a doctrine.
Still, Joe Biden, a professed Catholic, would likely use this to justify his support for same-sex marriages. But Francis contradicts the statement that the two previous popes agreed on:
“The common good requires that laws recognize, promote and protect marriage as the basis of the family, the primary unit of society…Legal recognition of homosexual unions or placing them on the same level as marriage would mean…the approval of deviant behavior, with the consequence of making it a model in present-day society.”
The Bible calls homosexual acts an “abomination” (Lev. 18:22), “degrading” and “unnatural” (Rom. 1:26). Once deviant sex becomes legal, gays can claim it’s normal. Once same-sex unions become legal, they become a model for others to fall into the same abomination.
Catholics represent 15 percent of the world’s population. To see them embrace an abomination would sink the world far deeper into the depravity of “’Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth’ (Rev. 17:5-6).
