PRAY WITH US about woke origins: Father God, we exalt You and Your thoughts as higher than our thoughts. But if any of us lack wisdom, we can ask You. And You will give Your wisdom without finding fault. But if You find doubt in us, we cannot expect to receive anything. And philosophers like Marx and Nietzsche not only doubt You, they deny You. And they have taken captive the minds of our youth for so long that those youth have become leaders of our cultural strongholds.
But if we ask without doubt or denial, You will give us not only wisdom. You will also give us divine power to demolish those strongholds. “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. And and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5-6). As we do, release Your wisdom and power on those who oppose You. And show Jesus’ higher way to the Father, who does not change like the shifting shadows of worldly philosophers. But instead has eternal truths which set us free. In Jesus’ name, amen.
PRAYER ALERT: Woke Origins—From Marxism to 21st Century Narcissism
Can we find a method to the madness of woke ideology that has swept over the US in only a few years? Yes, says Catholic philosopher Bishop Robert Barron. We can find it in the combined influence of 19th century philosophers Marx and Nietzsche and 20th century philosophers Jean-Paul Sartre and Michel Foucault. Their often dense, complex writings have filtered through universities into our youth culture. And those youth grew up to become the main woke and DEI enforcers of today.
They have a method behind this madness. But there is also madness behind their method. “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). For “has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” How has the resulting woke ideology become both mad and foolish?…
