PRAY WITH US about forced LGBT hiring: Father God, we thank You for creating us with freedom of choice. But we grieve that so many choose to fight against the way You created us. So show them they are fighting against You, and they will lose. Even if they gain the world’s nations to their side. Certainly these UN nations are raging and imagining a vain thing.
But we will not walk in those self-destructive ways. Instead, we commit our way to You. We trust in You, and You will do this. “You will make our righteousness shine like the dawn, and the justice of our cause like the noonday sun” (Ps. 37:6). So let Your light shine through us, that the world may be drawn to You. And away from the broad way to destruction. In Jesus’ name, amen.
PRAYER ALERT: Forced LGBT Hiring vs. Religious Freedom
The UN plans to launch in June a campaign to force nations to override religious freedom in many cases. They call it “protection against violence & discrimination based on sexual orientation & gender identity.” This campaign would force church hiring of LGBTs and mandatory drag queen story hours. And anything else in “religious, cultural, social and public life” that makes LGBTs happy. He says this is compatible with freedom of religion.
But religion implies a God (or gods) who created us. Homosexuality so goes against the way God created us that it causes multiple diseases. We care enough about such people that we must call them not to go against that design. Otherwise, they are doing themselves harm. In the same way, we must call drug addicts and alcoholics to get free from their self-destructive habits. And to receive the new empowering life that Christ offers.
If they refuse, we have the right to keep calling them. We cannot force them to accept His ways. But neither can they force us to approve and accept theirs. Because freedom of religion is a matter of faith, not force…
