PRAY WITH US about government-big tech crackdown: Father God, thank You that in the beginning You gave us the Word. In Him dwelled light, and that light provided life to men. We thank You for revealing Jesus as the way, the truth and the life. But the devil is the father of lies, because he has sinned from the beginning. And because of so many lies people high and low cannot tell lies from truth.
So preserve and enforce our freedom of speech where it exists. Expand that freedom where it doesn’t exist. Don’t allow censorship of the truth, by governments or Big Tech. Because freedom brings things out into the light, where You reign. But the devil rules the kingdom of darkness. Expose more and more the lies he is hiding in the darkness. Expose the lies about Covid-19, the vaccines, the elections, corruption, Chinese influence, CRT, BLM, socialism, and many other issues. And bring consequences on those who spread lies. Because lies keep people in bondage. But the truth will set them free.
PRAYER ALERT: Government-Big Tech Crackdown on “Disinformation”
A new Belize bill presents the latest instance of government censorship. Bill proponent Hon. Francis Fonseca cites as disinformation “possible cures or remedies for the Covid-19 virus, the origin of the disease”, etc. This would constitute a crime if “such expression creates a public detriment” and was done “intentionally.” If convicted, the person would face “a fine of $3,000 or imprisonment for a term of 6 months.”
Of course, the government could call any expression a “public detriment” if it differed from government policy. And the government could easily call it “intentional” too. This would have a chilling effect on our right to free speech.
Moreover, US Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the US is “flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation.” At the same time, the US will “boost trusted content.”
Again, the government defines what it considers “problematic,” “disinformation,” or “trusted”. But the US goes further to inform Facebook about what content it wants to censor, and what content to boost. Doesn’t this sound like collusion against the free speech of the opposition?
Increasingly, Big Tech considers Christians as the opposition. Especially those who present a biblical view of concerning sex, abortion and assisted suicide. In effect, Big Tech is censoring the Bible. The Napa Institute recently found that Big Tech censors Christians “at least once a week”…
