23% Favor Suing Religious Objectors to Gay Marriage

PRAY WITH US about 23% favor suing: Father God, You are Lord of the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them. But a growing percentage of Americans want to throw off your fetters and defy the way You made us. So why do the peoples rage against us? You said the world would hate us. But You also tell us to love and pray for and bless our enemies.

So help us to love them the way You do. Because they won’t know how to love until You love them first. Help us to pray for them that what they meant for evil will produce good instead, for them too. That malicious lawsuits will fail and true justice for all prevail. And we ask You to bless them by turning them from wicked ways that lead to destruction. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on this nation and all the nations that it influences. And displace the evil spirits and their plans to steal and kill and destroy. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAYER ALERT: 23% Favor Suing Religious Objectors to Gay Marriage

Like Belize’s Equal Opportunity Bill, the “Respect for Marriage Act” started out with the wrong title. Instead, they should have called it the “Mandated Support for Same-Sex Marriage Act.” Because it allowed anyone to sue organizations that didn’t support same-sex marriages. And that obviously included Bible-believing churches.

Before the Senate amended the bill, Rasmussen Reports polled US voters about it. When we analyze it, the results should shock us. Specifically, 23% want predatory lawsuits against all who exercise their freedom to not support same-sex marriage. In other words, one-quarter of Americans stand dead set against us. And we saw in the elections that they are using devious practices to turn other Americans against us.

But thank God, Congress has amended the Act. Now it says that “Nothing in this Act, or any amendment made by this Act, shall be construed to diminish or abrogate a religious liberty or conscience protection otherwise available to an individual or organization under the Constitution of the United States or Federal law.” Still, that won’t stop the enemy from trying to steal and destroy that liberty.
