People’s Constitutional Commission—Tugs of War in Belize

People’s Constitutional Commission

PRAY WITH US about People’s Constitutional Commission. Father God, thank You for making Jesus King of kings and Lord of lords. Now and forever He holds all authority in heaven and on earth. But He delegates and establishes human authorities. So we affirm our Constitution’s opening statement on the supremacy of God in Belize. We ask that You would help us continue to affirm that. For You are the ultimate Father of this nation. You have begun a good work in Belize. And You are faithful to complete it.

At the same time we come against the enemy’s works and his efforts to impose a woke agenda on Belize. For You came to destroy the enemy’s works. So frustrate his efforts to influence the constitutional process. Impress on all representatives Your foundations for this nation, and Your good purposes for Belize. Affirm our constitutional commitments to family values as well as moral & spiritual values. For without them we cannot maintain true freedom with responsibility. Instead, make us more accountable & responsible to You and one another. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAYER ALERT: People’s Constitutional Commission—Tugs of War in Belize

After a 62% vote turned down Chile’s the new woke and wacky constitution, Belize is next. Because the Belize House of Representatives has voted to start a new constitutional process. The People’s Constitution Commission will consider changing the Constitution in part or in full.

The church, which represents about 73 percent of Belizeans, has only one representative. Yet five LGBT groups—each having only a tiny number of members—have five representatives. Eight other civil organizations—including pro-abortion Belize Family Association—have one rep each. Also, different government agencies have 17 reps—half of the total of 34 reps. And the United Nations has three reps.

This raises some troubling questions. Firstly, why does the church have only one, while tiny, mostly foreign-funded LGBT groups have five? Secondly, why should the UN have any say at all in shaping the Constitution of our country? Especially when we consider how they too, are pressuring all nations to bow to woke agendas. Shouldn’t Belize invite them as observers, but not as participants? Thirdly, why should the government have fully 50 percent of the representatives? Doesn’t that sound like an inside job? In any case, if it turns woke, thank God Belizeans will have a chance to vote it down as the Chileans had.
